Dear Members,
The cool winter breeze have finally begun after a long wait…and it’s a fantastic time to wish Merry Christmas to all our friends.. and also pray for a wonderful and prosperous year 2012 for all of us.
November and December were fun packed and knowledge building landmark months of Vasai Branch. The Youth Festival which was a special event from 23rd to 27th of November was designed mainly for our CA students with an aim to alleviate them from exam fatigue & promote upcoming talents and creativity was a Fantastic event with the joyous support and competitive spirits of our CA students. The event included various indoor and outdoor games, competitions & cultural Programmes. The special presentations created by the Vasai hostel students was indeed a marvelous effort by them and the effects of these spectacular slide arrangements would always linger in the minds of the viewers. The finale of this youth festival along with the awards presentation ceremony was graced by the presence of our Regional Council Members. All the dignitaries blessed the upcoming youth CAs and guided them in various ways so as to achieve their final aim of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
The Vasai Branch has already geared up for organization of GMCS batches in the Vasai hostel so that our Vasai Hostel students get training in the vicinity of their place of stay without a need to travel at a distance.
The Vasai branch conducted a Mock CPT on 4th of Dec and the response from students was very encouraging. I wish All The Best to all the new students opting CA as a profession and appearing exams on the 18th of Dec 2011.
The Seminar on Construction Industry was an enriching experience to the participants & the gracious presence & keynote address of the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) Shri R. K. Paliwal added a special flavor to it. The comprehensive address of the eminent speakers CA Vimal Punamiya, Advocate Sunil Ramani and CA Rajiv Luthia on the topics were well appreciated by all.
The Lecture meeting by Solicitor Praveen Veera on Conveyance jointly with Chamber of Tax Consultants, Mumbai was a magnificent oration highlighting on the details of conveyance. This joint event by Vasai Branch of ICAI & Chamber of Tax Consultants is seen as a beginning of new era of professional interactions between these two professional bodies in this area.
One more high point program was the Mega Conference on Information Technology organised by the Committee for Capacity Building of SMP ICAI & hosted by Vasai branch. This conference was unique in itself as it was specially designed with an aim to perk up the operational competence and value addition for small and medium practitioners with the use of updated and latest technology. This conference was specially designed as an informative session so as to make CA offices techno-savy. Numerous focused topics were covered in this two day conference. The feedbacks in the form of appreciations received from many members after this conference reveals its grand success.
I forward my heart filled thanks to the Chairman CCBCAF & SMP, CA Vijay Kumar Gurg & the Vice-Chairman CCBCAF & SMP, CA Atul Bheda for giving the Vasai branch this opportunity to hold such a great event. I also express my hearty thanks to CA Sanjeev Maheshwari, CCM for addressing at the conference & giving insight about the various initiatives of the ICAI for Small CA firms. A special thanks to CA Haresh Mehta, CA Ashwin Dedhia & other co-ordinators for designing this unique event & making it successful.
As we are approaching towards the end of Year 2011, we have organized some more seminars so as to comply the CPE compliance of many of our chartered friends. In row are events like Seminar on Emerging Trends in Internal Audit jointly with Internal Audit Standards Board of ICAI on 18th December and seminar on Project Finance on the 25th Dec, 2011 are a knowledge bonanza for our members. I appeal all my dear colleagues to avail this opportunity and enrich your knowledge by gracing the event with your presence.
As a social responsibility a unique program with regards to the Role of CA’s in Rural Development will soon be held by Vasai branch highlighting the catalyst role of CA’s in rural and agricultural development.
